Adelaide Fringe show ‘Beatburger Bites Back’ seeks support acts

After gleaning two Adelaide Fringe Award nominations in 2010 (including Best Music Event) the celebration of underground beats and visuals 'Beatburger' returns with a title fit for a sequel: 'Beatburger Bites Back!' Promising another high-fidelity mind-expanding experience splashed over a stage and three massive video screens, we're calling for Adelaide DJs, VJs, beatsmiths and crews to send us links to your work so we can assemble the ultimate BBB lineup. The show will be taking place on two Saturday nights during Fringe in the stunningly refurbished Hotel Tivoli's main room. If you have talents in producing and or mixing visuals, beats and rock a passion for live underground electronic music, Beatburger wants your buns. Add your website link in a comment to this post, and we'll taste-test your sauce and be in touch! This opportunity is first in best dressed so don't hold back with your demo material!

I’ve been vj’ing for several music shows, most prominently RvM, an industrial techno dance show. My visual style is psychedelic and glitch inspired, recontexualising video material and orchestrating reactive visuals with audio input and beat timing. I also produce my own music, industrial and psychedelic techno, ranging from minimal and atmospheric to brutal hard beat driving dance. I have a lot of material online at http://www.soundcloud.com/teeth including a few full recorded live sets. I havn’t much live recordings of my visual work up but i have an animation show reel and a few short examples:

Yeah representing d33p h33t here. We would be keen to perform a track or something for this. Could be fun. Always down for concept stuff and tailoring stuff to fit specific vibe.

This is Hal Bird, i do some beats and pieces too, just getting into some shows now that i have the tools to perform some bits and pieces live.

You can hear some tunes here:

and you can see me play on this video that Dave Harry posted:

If that works. I’m not sure.

Also my friend Big Dos and i perform accompanying projections with VHS/Camera delay/Video Mixer trickery which is quite fresh.

This event is a great idea!

Hey Hal, would be dope to see some of your visuals in action… maybe a jam is in order? We’re still feeling out options for the the show… and thanks for touching base!

      • Hal Bird says:

We’re doing a few shows in the coming weeks, we’ve got the Like Leaves album launch on Friday night at Jive and then Two Suns at the Jade monkey on the 29th, plus we’re booked for a fringe-y show during the Fringe but not sure which one :S

Jams are also good, we try to meet up once or twice a week to put things together, after the Like Leaves show we’ll be a bit less stressed and be able to experiment a bit more so if you’re interested get in touch, via email.
